Tajikistan Opens First National Cryptocurrency Exchange
The first national crypto exchange, created with the support of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies and under the control of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), has opened in the capital's IT park in Dushanbe.

This event became an important stage in the digital transformation of the country, where previously the circulation of cryptocurrency remained outside the legal field. NBT Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda emphasized that the new exchange operates within a regulated environment, which minimizes the risks of fraud; prevents money laundering and financing of illegal activities; protects the interests of local investors through clear rules of transactions and verification.
To implement the project, the Innovation Agency and the Central Bank have developed a set of measures to protect users, including KYC/AML procedures, monitoring of suspicious transactions and training traders. According to research by the Innovation Agency, about 15% of online users in Tajikistan already have experience investing in digital assets. However, before the opening of the exchange, they were forced to use international platforms such as Binance, Bybit or Paxful, which do not support local languages, have difficulties with fiat transactions in somoni, and limit access to residents of the country due to sanctions and AML restrictions.
The new exchange solves these problems by providing a safe space for trading that meets state requirements. The creation of a national crypto platform is aimed at bringing crypto transactions out of the shadows and legalizing the circulation of digital assets within the country.
Earlier it was reported that a pilot project for the release of the HUMO stablecoin, tied to the national currency, the Uzbek sum, was launched in Uzbekistan.
