Fake Uber Driver Steals Cryptocurrency From Man in London
The British publication MyLondon reported on an incident in which an American tourist became the victim of an organised crime scheme involving scopolamine, a substance that causes loss of control over actions while maintaining consciousness.

According to the victim, he left a nightclub in the Soho area, where he was picked up by an Uber driver, who was later revealed to be a fake. The driver knew the client's name, as displayed in the app, and offered him a cigarette, which was likely treated with scopolamine. Under the influence of the drug, the man gave out the access code to his phone, as a result of which the attackers gained access to his crypto wallets and Revolut account.
In total, the scammers withdrew $72,000 in XRP tokens and $50,000 in bitcoins from the American's account. After that, the victim woke up in an unfamiliar area of the capital, having lost not only money, but also orientation in space. The total amount of damage was about $123,000. London police have launched an investigation, but no arrests have been made yet.
