Teens kidnap man in Las Vegas and steal cryptocurrency

Three young people from the United States are accused of kidnapping, extortion and theft of cryptocurrency. According to 8 News Now, two of the suspects, 16-year-old residents of Florida, have already been detained, and the third participant in the incident is on the run.

The teenagers reportedly kidnapped a man in the evening in Las Vegas. The suspects ambushed the man in the parking lot of his house, put him in a car, threw a towel over his head and, blackmailing him with the murder of his father, forced him to give access to his financial accounts. A fourth accomplice, who was located at a distance, coordinated the actions of the criminals remotely. As a result, the victim lost crypto assets and NFTs worth $4 million. After the kidnapping, the man was taken outside of Nevada, where he was abandoned on the road. After being freed, he walked 8 km to the first gas station, from where he called the police.

According to investigators, all three had previously been disciplined at a school in Florida. Lawyers for the two detainees filed motions for house arrest. One of them was released on $4 million bail, the other is under electronic surveillance. The first hearing in the case will take place this summer.

Earlier, employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs named the main criteria by which crypto-fraudsters can be identified.
