The Libra memcoin crash is under investigation in the US
The United States Department of Justice is investigating the collapse of the memecoin Libra. This was reported by the department's press service.
The investigation is being conducted by the DOJ’s fraud division. The US Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) may also be involved in the inquiry. Authorities in Argentina are also investigating the case — they are examining the relationship between Argentine President Javier Milei and the founders of the Libra project, and whether he might have abused his power for financial gain.
It is noted that many individuals might have been involved in the Libra cryptocurrency project, where investors lost between $87 million and $107 million, including Hayden Adams from Kelsier Ventures, who made a profit of $100 million.
Earlier, Argentine President Javier Milei commented on the cryptocurrency scandal, which has led to lawsuits against him and even calls for his impeachment.
