US Customs has allowed the import of mining equipment into the country.

US Customs and Border Protection has resumed processing and allowing the entry of cryptocurrency mining equipment, which was previously detained at the border upon importation into the country. Reuters reports.

It is known that thousands of units of cryptocurrency mining equipment were detained upon importation at various US ports. Problems with processing export documents for the equipment affected more than 10,000 Bitmain Antminer mining rigs after Chinese chip supplier Sophgo was sanctioned by the US Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security.

Retailers affected by the customs authorities' actions claimed that the value of the seized equipment is estimated to be in the millions of dollars.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump issued an order to create a cryptocurrency reserve consisting of Bitcoin, Ethereum, as well as Ripple (XRP), Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) coins.
