The number of crypto scammers has increased in Canada
Canada is experiencing a rise in the number of scammers promoting fake cryptocurrency platforms against the backdrop of US tariffs on imports. This data is provided by the Alberta Securities Commission.

It is reported that the perpetrators faked a media article in which the former Prime Minister of the country, Justin Trudeau, allegedly recommends investing in the CanCap project. Another material contains a fake transcript of an interview with the Premier of New Brunswick, Susan Holt, in which she supposedly promoted CanCap, along with fake photos of her presenting the new platform.
Regulators warn that scammers "prey on the fears of potential victims and can quickly change the names of their schemes" – previously, they promoted projects CanCentra and Immediate Flectinium using at least six websites with different domains.
Earlier, it was reported that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, signed an executive order to establish a strategic bitcoin reserve, which involves the storage of assets confiscated by the Treasury Department in criminal and civil cases.
