In Russia, test operations with the digital ruble were conducted
The Bank of Russia, the Ministry of Finance, and the Treasury tested certain operations with the digital ruble within the budget process at the end of last year. This was reported by RBC.

Details of the test are not specified, but the Ministry of Finance stated that project participants are working on this direction in the application of CBDC. The ministry noted that "the implementation of any government payments to the population using digital rubles" is not yet planned.
Earlier, it was reported that retail networks in Russia need at least two years to prepare for the launch of digital ruble operations. This was stated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in response to the draft law on starting transactions in the national currency.
Before that, representatives of the Bank of Russia stated that retail points without internet connectivity would not be required to accept payments using the digital ruble.
