"Rosseti" are ready to coordinate crypto mining in regions
The company "Rosseti" is exploring various options to load its capacities by developing mining. This was reported by "Kommersant."
It is noted that the organization is ready to take on the role of the state coordinator in scaling the energy consumption of the industry. Representatives of "Rosseti" mentioned that the cryptocurrency mining infrastructure is of interest, as it could stimulate demand in areas with low energy load.
By developing the mining industry, it is possible to significantly increase tariff revenues and direct the generated income towards modernizing networks in certain regions of Russia. The company has already sent a request to the Prime Minister of the Russian government, Mikhail Mishustin, asking him to consider granting additional powers for coordinating the placement of mining centers in Russian regions.
The holding also pointed out that they have all the necessary technical capabilities to monitor electricity consumption and are able to manage the load of facilities engaged in cryptocurrency mining flexibly.
