Proton opened access to Bitcoin wallet for all users
The creators of the Proton email client have opened access to the Proton Wallet Bitcoin wallet for all users. This was reported by the company's press service.

The app works in the web version, on iOS, and Android. The trial version of the wallet was launched in the summer of 2024 for a limited group of Proton Visionary clients. More than 100,000 participants took part in the testing.
Proton founder Andy Yen said that "digital freedom" requires not only privacy but also control over one's finances. According to him, the company has supported Bitcoin since 2014 and keeps the received coins on its balance.
"During Proton's initial crowdfunding campaign in 2014, Bitcoin became a lifeline when PayPal temporarily blocked our ability to receive donations," Yen added.
