The move is part of a broader digital transformation strategy for the country, developed by the Pakistan Cryptocurrency Council, which also received support from the Ministry of Finance. As part of the initiative, the authorities plan to provide tax incentives to AI infrastructure providers and exempt mining equipment from import duties. The program aims to attract foreign investment of several billion dollars and create new jobs to expand the workforce. According to local analysts, a number of international companies have already shown interest in cooperation, and some delegations have visited the country to assess the conditions and opportunities.

The second phase of the initiative involves cryptocurrency miners switching to renewable energy sources to make the industry greener and more sustainable. This should help Pakistan not only strengthen its position in crypto mining but also meet international sustainability standards that are increasingly being adopted by the industry.

Earlier, it was reported that Pakistan is creating a new government agency, the Pakistan Digital Assets Authority (PDAA), which will oversee blockchain technologies and cryptocurrencies.
