Oklahoma plans to pay salaries in bitcoin
Oklahoma State Senator Dusty Dyer has prepared a bill that would allow local residents to receive their salaries in cryptocurrencies, while service providers and merchants could accept Bitcoin payments. This was reported by the portal GetBlock Magazine.

According to the official, inflation is reducing the purchasing power of hardworking Oklahomans, whereas Bitcoin offers a unique opportunity to protect incomes and investments. The bill, titled the Bitcoin Freedom Act, is designed to create a framework for the safe use of Bitcoin by private businesses and individual residents in the state. Additionally, Bitcoin is intended to be recognized as an asset for transactions and investments, as well as a means for salary payments.
If the bill is passed, employees, employers, and businesses will be able to choose payment methods, and participation in the Bitcoin economy will be voluntary.
The bill will be considered in the 60th session, which begins on February 3.
