The number of crypto millionaires worldwide increased by 95% over the year
Henley & Partners has released a report on "cryptocurrency wealth" over the past year, revealing that there are now 172,300 individuals globally who own crypto assets worth at least $1 million each.
Experts highlight that while previous generations built wealth through property and securities, today it stems from Bitcoin, Ether, NFTs, ICOs, mining, and staking.
There are currently 172,300 individuals worldwide holding crypto assets worth more than $1 million, a 95% increase compared to last year. Among them, the number of Bitcoin millionaires has surged by 111% to reach 85,400, the report states.
The number of crypto millionaires with assets exceeding $100 million has grown by 79%, reaching 325 individuals.
Of the six new crypto billionaires who reached this level in the past year, five benefited from Bitcoin, underscoring its dominant position in attracting long-term investors acquiring large assets - analysts noted.
