Men wanted in Thailand for attacking a crypto investor
The police in Thailand are searching for two Russians who attacked and robbed their compatriot, who possessed cryptocurrencies. This was reported by the agency's press service.
The incident occurred in a hotel near Karon Beach on the island of Phuket. According to preliminary information, the 31-year-old Russian crypto investor was attacked over an unpaid debt in bitcoins. One of the assailants demanded $120,000 from the man as compensation and attempted to forcefully access his crypto wallet through threats.
When the investor refused to hand over the money, he was beaten. After being struck on the head, the man lost consciousness, and the criminals escaped with $20,000 in cash, leaving the crypto investor tied up in the hotel bathroom. The police suspect that one of the perpetrators fled to Dubai, and immigration authorities have joined the investigation. Authorities are continuing the search for the other attacker, who may still be in Thailand.
It is worth noting that investors have filed a lawsuit against the HAWK token team, accusing them of selling unregistered securities.
