A group of individuals is being sought for fraud with a crypto exchange in Moldova
The National Anti-Corruption Center of Moldova (CNA) in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office is conducting a series of searches in the cities of Chișinău, Edineț, and Ungheni as part of an investigation into a fraud case.
According to the agency, a group of criminals convinced a pensioner to invest 400,000 lei (over 21,500 dollars) through unnamed cryptocurrency platforms. After that, they took her money. The Prosecutor's Office is considering the version that the group included citizens of the Republic of Moldova and other countries.
During the searches, electronic storage devices were seized from the homes of the suspects. Individuals involved in the case are being questioned. The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, former Binance Holdings employee Amrita Srivastava filed a lawsuit against the company's British subsidiary, accusing it of bribery and unfair dismissal.
