FIFA Launches Its Blockchain Network Based on Avalanche
FIFA, the international football federation, has launched its blockchain network, built on Avalanche. It was released with the aim of creating a Web3 infrastructure for the organization’s future projects.

The decision is part of FIFA’s broader strategy to develop digital rights and assets, including NFTs and tokenized fan rights. The new blockchain network will serve as the foundation for the issuance of digital collections (including NFTs); a digital item marketplace; and decentralized applications (dApps) focused on interaction with the football community. Avalanche’s technology will ensure high transaction speeds, low fees, and scalability, which is especially important for a global sports platform serving billions of users.
This is not FIFA’s first foray into Web3 – in 2022, ahead of the Qatar World Cup, the organization launched digital collections powered by Algorand. In April 2025, FIFA confirmed its move to an Ethereum-compatible platform to expand its integration capabilities with DeFi and rights tokenization.
“FIFA chose Avalanche for its decentralized network because our protocol combines high performance with the flexibility needed for global solutions,” Ava Labs noted.
