Former Binance employee accuses the exchange of bribery
Amrita Srivastava, a former employee of Binance Holdings, has filed a lawsuit against the UK division of the company, accusing it of bribery and wrongful termination. This was reported by Bloomberg.
According to the lawsuit, the woman has information about a colleague accepting bribes from a client "under the guise of providing consulting services." That colleague has since left the firm. Srivastava reported this to a top manager, and a month later, she was fired. She stated that she encountered a chaotic environment in the company and "pressure to close deals." According to the former employee, the platform wanted to address a "gap" in income after it was revealed that about 25% of the revenue from the division previously came from a client linked to Iran.
Court documents state that Binance management was already aware of the bribery incident.
"The decision to terminate for poor performance was made before Srivastava raised concerns about an issue that was already under the spotlight of the internal audit group," a Binance representative defended.
Previously, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced the launch of new tokens BFUSD, which have the function of generating passive income.
