IRС companies allowed to create digital assets in Russia

The Central Bank of Russia has included the company "Interregional Registrar Center" (IRC) in the registry of operators of digital financial assets (DFA). This information was published on the Central Bank's website.

After registration, the company can legally issue digital assets. It became the fourth company to enter the registry of information system operators (ISO) in 2024. In March, the Bank of Russia added "T-Bank" to the registry, followed by the firm "Tokenik" in November, and "VTB Capital Trading" in early December.

The "Interregional Registrar Center" has been operating since 1993, managing the registries of owners of emission securities for Russian and foreign companies, as well as investment shares.

It was previously reported that next year, the digital ruble will be used for transactions within Russia. This was announced by President Vladimir Putin during the VTB forum "Russia Calls!"
