Bybit Exchange Receives MiCA License in Austria
Digital asset trading platform Bybit has received an official license to operate in accordance with the new rules for regulating the crypto market in the European Union - MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets).

The registration was carried out in Austria, and information about this appeared on the official website of the financial regulator - the Financial Market Supervision Authority of Austria (FMA). The MiCA rules came into force at the beginning of 2025 and allow companies that have a permit in one of the EU countries to provide their services throughout the union. According to the FMA, the license was issued to the Austrian company Bybit EU GmbH, which is registered in this country.
The largest crypto exchange Bybit was founded in 2018 and is owned by Ben Zhou. Since 2022, its head office has been located in Dubai. According to the CoinMarketCap portal, Bybit is the second largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world by trading volume, second only to Binance.
Earlier, analysts at Wu Blockchain, citing SimilarWeb, found that 26% of visitors to the Bybit crypto exchange in April 2025came from Russia , making the country the largest region in terms of visits.
