Despite the rapid development of blockchain and Web3 technologies, fraudulent schemes are also becoming more sophisticated and are disguised as different forms of online activity - from supposedly winning sweepstakes to dangerous smart contracts promoted through social networks. According to reports for 2024, the damage from crypto fraud exceeded $9.9 billion, which is 24% more than in 2020. This fact highlights the importance of strengthening protective measures, especially in the context of the growing popularity of cryptocurrencies and the record price of Bitcoin.

To combat such threats, Bitget has declared June as Cybercrime Awareness Month since 2024, focusing on educating and preparing users to recognize fraud. This year, the campaign changes its approach: instead of fear of fraud, the emphasis is on consciously and actively protecting your data and assets. Under the slogan “Smarter Eyes, Stronger Shields,” a set of activities is being launched aimed at forming a culture of digital security through interactive and game-based learning methods.

As part of Anti-Scam Month, Bitget introduces several new tools and activities. A special educational portal has appeared — Bitget Anti-Scam Hub, which contains materials that help users learn to recognize and prevent cyber threats. A unique social initiative, PFP Smarter Glasses, is also launched, which allows users to increase their attentiveness to fraud signals using NFT images in the form of glasses. Additionally, a series of articles, Security Blog Series, will be published, dedicated to various aspects of protection in the world of crypto assets, and to consolidate security skills — a mini-game, Smarter Eyes Challenge, which will help develop skills in recognizing potentially dangerous situations in a playful way.

This campaign is designed not only to inform, but also to educate users on real actions that will allow them to feel confident in a rapidly changing digital environment where AI technologies are used not only for development, but also for committing increasingly complex types of fraud. Bitget is betting that literacy and readiness to protect themselves will become a reliable shield for crypto market participants.
