Binance Surveys Asian Traders on Digital Asset Security
The largest crypto exchange Binance conducted a large-scale survey among 30,000 traders from Asia to find out how users protect their digital assets.

The results of the study showed an increase in awareness of basic security measures, but more advanced methods remain in the shadows. The majority of respondents (80.5%) reported that they have enabled two-factor authentication to prevent unauthorized access to their accounts. This suggests that the majority of the audience understands the importance of simple security measures. In addition, 73.3% of survey participants said that they double-check recipient addresses before each transaction, minimizing errors in transferring funds to fraudulent wallets.
Despite high levels of basic literacy, more complex tools remain underutilized:
- Only 21.5% of respondents installed anti-phishing codes;
- Only 17.6% of users activated the white list of addresses (Allowlist);
- 34% of asset owners still store private keys on devices with internet access (in Southeast Asia this figure is even higher - 42%).
Binance experts noted that such practices increase vulnerability to cyber threats, especially when using insecure software or phishing attacks. More than half of respondents (52%) indicated that if they lost funds due to fraud, they would turn to the exchange for help, including freezing assets or canceling transactions.
The survey results also revealed a change in the perception of the role of the exchange: more and more users see it not just as a trading platform, but also as a strategic partner in cybersecurity. The exchange experts emphasized that the future of crypto security is in a hybrid model, where user responsibility is combined with support from the platform.
“People want the exchange to be their shield, not just a gateway to the market,” said one Binance team member.
Earlier, it was reported that former Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao confirmed in an interview with Farohk Radio that he had submitted a petition for clemency to US President Donald Trump.
