AI-based meter to combat mining in Russia
Engineers from St. Petersburg State University have developed an electricity meter based on artificial intelligence to combat illegal mining. This was reported by the portal Investing.com.
The development involved employees from the companies "Lartekhom" and "Energomera". The main feature of the meter is an artificial intelligence that can analyze consumer patterns. The device will quickly and accurately detect violations in electricity consumption related to illegal cryptocurrency mining. The meter is capable of predicting potential overloads and alerting suppliers about potential risks to maintain the stable operation of energy grids.
The system will operate with minimal human intervention, significantly reducing the response time to possible anomalies in the electricity sector. The device is currently in the testing phase.
Previously, we reported that a special commission to combat illegal miners will operate in the Irkutsk region.
