Fast food chain Steak 'n Shake will accept Bitcoin payments for food
Starting May 16, 2025, fast food restaurant chain Steak 'n Shake, which operates in the United States, Europe and the Middle East, will begin accepting Bitcoin as payment in all of its establishments.

The initiative aims to popularize cryptocurrency among the more than 100 million visitors annually, making the company part of a growing list of fast food brands integrating digital assets into their infrastructure.
Steak 'n Shake is the latest in a series of restaurant experiments with cryptocurrency. Back in 2013, the Subway chain tested the possibility of paying with BTC in some franchises, and in 2018, the Canadian branch of KFC Canada launched the "Bucket for Bitcoin" promotion, allowing you to buy food with the first cryptocurrency. The company emphasized that the introduction of Bitcoin is a step towards the democratization of digital assets.
“We aim to make cryptocurrency a part of everyday life, where every customer can pay for lunch or dinner via blockchain,” the network representatives said.
Earlier it was reported that visitors to Spar supermarkets in Zug (Switzerland) can pay for purchases using the first cryptocurrency.
