Cetus Exchange Will Return All Savings to Clients Affected by Hacker's Breach
On May 22, the decentralized crypto platform Cetus Protocol was hacked. The attackers managed to steal assets worth about $223 million. However, the project team announced its intention to fully compensate the losses of all affected users.

To implement the full reimbursement of losses, a vote has been initiated among the Sui customer community, as Cetus Protocol plans to receive a loan from the Sui Foundation for this purpose. The protocol developers call on the community to support the allocation of funds and promise that this will help “rebuild the DeFi ecosystem on Sui and make it even more resilient and reliable.”
As stated in the official statement by the Cetus team, they sincerely regret the incident and are ready to use all their available reserves - both fiat and crypto - to cover the losses incurred by users. To ensure 100% compensation, it will also be necessary to attract a critical loan from the Sui Foundation.
“We deeply apologize to customers and all participants in the Sui ecosystem for the negative impact caused by this hack,” the platform said.
Earlier, the team of the Cetus exchange, which operates on the Sui blockchain, offered a reward of $6 million to a hacker who stole 20,920 ETH (about $55.3 million) during an attack on the platform.
