Bitcoin Investments to Grow to $300 Billion by 2026 - Forecast

Analysts at the investment company Bitwise claim that in the coming years, major players will enter the crypto market — states, public corporations, and funds that will consider Bitcoin as an alternative to gold. They see support for this trend in the emerging friendly legal environment in the United States, where cryptocurrencies are increasingly integrated into the financial system.

According to Bitwise forecasts, institutional investment in Bitcoin will reach $120 billion by the end of 2025, and by the end of 2026, this figure could exceed $300 billion. This growth is due to the emergence of new financial products, including spot ETFs, as well as expanded access for large management companies such as JPMorgan and Goldman Sachs, which can direct from $60 to $600 billion of their portfolios to BTC. According to CoinShares, in May 2025 alone, the volume of funds directed to various crypto ETFs and funds approached an all-time high of $188 billion, which indicates a large-scale capital outflow from traditional assets to digital ones.

Companies whose shares are traded on stock markets have also increased their interest in the first cryptocurrency. After Strategy began buying BTC en masse, more than 100 firms around the world followed suit, indicating the formation of a new standard for capital management. Bitcoin is becoming not just a digital asset, but a part of strategic reserves, similar to how countries and banks used gold in the past. Bitwise suggests that if at least 1% of government reserves of the precious metal are converted into BTC, this will provide another $32 billion in investments in the first cryptocurrency.

Thus, analysts are confident that Bitcoin is on the threshold of a new stage of its development, when it will become an integral part of the portfolios of large managers, as well as national banks and treasuries. If these trends are confirmed, the price of the first cryptocurrency may exceed current estimates, especially if gold begins to lose its role as a standard instrument for storing value.

Analysts at the trading company QCP Capital said that Bitcoin has begun to show steady growth , despite the difficult macroeconomic environment - the sanctions and geopolitical background, as well as the cautious position of the US Federal Reserve System (FRS).
