Solana Mobile Launches Crypto Smartphone and Native SKR Token
Solana Mobile, a subsidiary of Solana Labs, has revealed new details about the launch of its native SKR token and the introduction of TEEPIN, a decentralized architecture designed to enable secure interaction with the Solana blockchain via mobile devices.

The developers announced that the second generation of the Seeker crypto smartphone will go on sale on August 4, 2025, with pre-orders already exceeding 150,000 units in 57 countries. TEEPIN (Trusted Execution Environment for Private and Interoperable Nodes) is a three-tier decentralized architecture designed to run the Solana blockchain through mobile devices.
Clients can connect to the Solana network without a central server, and control over nodes and users is done through cryptography rather than a centralized authority.
"There is no central controlling element in this system. Control and access are regulated by encryption," said Solana Labs co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko.
The SKR token will be an internal tool for economic motivation and governance in the Solana Mobile ecosystem. Its main functions are to reward developers who create software and services for the mobile blockchain, to incentivize users who actively use the platform, and to integrate into Solana's DeFi infrastructure, including smart contracts and liquidity protocols. This approach is aimed at creating a sustainable and open development model, where economic incentives replace centralized governance.
The new Seeker 2 smartphone will come with a hardware wallet and support for the Solana DApp. The price for early adopters will be $500, making it one of the most affordable options for interacting with Web3 applications.
